Job Description Summary
Selected applicants will be interviewed to establish a pool of approved Engineering and Electrical Technology instructors for possible part-time teaching assignments in the Engineering and Technology Division. Assignments may be day, evening, or weekend classes at the San Luis Obispo Campus or the North County Campus.

Essential Functions & Qualifications
- Any Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience;
- Any Associate degree from an accredited institution and six years of professional experience;
-The equivalent. (Candidates making application on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment. -A valid Community College credential in the discipline (If received prior to 1990, as the credential is no longer being issued).
-Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
-Teaching experience in the discipline, community college level preferred;
-Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community Colleges.
-Recent experience in any of the following related topics of instruction:
- Residential installations and maintenance
- Commercial installations and maintenance
- Industrial installations and maintenance
- Power distribution
- Programming and operation of programable logic controls (PLC's) and/or SCADA systems
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC)
- Familiarity with polyphase (3-phase) power systems and installations
- Industrial electronics and applications
- Rotating electrical machinery (motors/generators) theory and applications
- AC/DC motor control and applications
- Instrumentation and control
- Energy storage and electrical vehicle charging stations
- Alternate (green) energy systems including wind or photovoltaics / solar systems
